The PR 9 Levada do Caldeirão Verde is a 6.5 km trail (13 km round trip) with a moderate difficulty, taking you through Madeira’s impressive mountainous landscapes. It begins at Queimadas Forest Park, near traditional Santana-style houses, and follows a historic levada through the lush Laurissilva forest.

Along the route, you’ll pass tunnels, cliffs, and scenic viewpoints over São Jorge, ending at a stunning 100-meter waterfall and lagoon. The trail is safe year-round, but bringing a flashlight is recommended due to the tunnels.
